What happens when an entire school day is spent not scrolling, but writing? DIKTAT II – School of TikTok transforms the endless flow of algorithmically curated content into a physical archive of more than 5,000 handwritten notes, revealing the hidden structures of contemporary digital culture and continuing Joachim Bosse’s ongoing DIKTAT series.

"DIKTAT" is an ongoing artistic project by Joachim Bosse that explores how digital media shapes perception, memory, and attention. Acting as a chronicler of the digital age, Bosse began "DIKTAT,1 " (2023) by manually transcribing the internet for 24 hours.

"DIKTAT, 2 – School of TikTok" (2025), developed in collaboration with students from Heinrich-Hertz-Schule Hamburg and educator Miriam Höfler at Ernst Deutsch Theater, saw students spend an entire school day hand-copying their algorithmically curated TikTok feeds, creating an archive of more than 5,000 handwritten notes.

By translating digital streams into text, "DIKTAT" slows down the flow of information and makes visible the structures, repetitions, and narratives that shape contemporary digital culture.
